Gitg, the GUI tool, would really benefit from having new contributors to help @albfan ; in particular, it needs help to port to and implement proper dark-mode friendly diff colors using the API for dark styles handling.
In case anyone is looking for an challenge to help a very useful tool for on : https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gitg/-/issues/345 and https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gitg/-/issues/97

apotaurus,

@nekohayo @albfan Just for curiosity: why another git client ? Searching "git" on flathub I found lots of interesting results. Is it because this one looks more ? I don't want to be controversial, it's really just to understand

@apotaurus @albfan
In most cases, I 100% believe it is better to improve & maintain an existing app rather than start from scratch (like many are doing these days), and this is exactly why I'm bringing attention to this mature and useful application.
gitg has existed since 2008 (git itself was created in 2005!)… It predates almost every other git client and is a nice GTK GUI that fits well within GNOME. I see no reason to reinvent the wheel here.

apotaurus,

@nekohayo @albfan oh, my bad : I thought gitg was the reinvented wheel , not the contrary… Good to know , thanks!
