Gitg, the #GNOME #git GUI tool, would really benefit from having new contributors to help @albfan ; in particular, it needs help to port to #GTK4 and implement proper dark-mode friendly diff colors using the #FreeDesktop API for dark styles handling.
In case anyone is looking for an #opensource #programming challenge to help a very useful tool for #developers on #Linux: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gitg/-/issues/345 and https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gitg/-/issues/97

apotaurus,

@nekohayo @albfan Just for curiosity: why another git client ? Searching "git" on flathub I found lots of interesting results. Is it because this one looks more ? I don't want to be controversial, it's really just to understand

apotaurus,

@nekohayo @albfan oh, my bad : I thought gitg was the reinvented wheel , not the contrary… Good to know , thanks!

I don’t know if recent NVIDIA drivers, or a recent update to the Linux kernel did this, but battery life on standby on my laptop (12rh gen intel + RTX3050Ti) has improved significantly!

Usually, if I left it on suspend overnight, it drained about 20% of its battery. Yesterday it lost something like 6%!

apotaurus,

@thelinuxEXP @Bene Oh, may I ask you some hands for this ? Yesterday I made a fresh new install of Fedora 38, but I'm not able to see my NVIDIA GPU. lsci command only show the Intel integrated one. I disable Secure Boot from BIOS. What I'm missing? Thanks in advance

App idea: a word processor that doesn’t expose every single possible possible formatting option permanently in a huge top bar. Create headings, write text, mark important sections, insert images, and that’s it. Export as a PDF and move on. In contrast to a note taking app / markdown editor, this would actually be intended as a simpler and more focused alternative to , and such.

apotaurus,

@bragefuglseth I have been thinking the same thing for a long time , so much so that at one point I thought of creating such an app myself.
In my experience, apart from university and some work documents, most people don't use but 3 percent of the functionality of #LibreOffice or #Word, and indeed find them complicated.
I find that what comes closest to this idea is #WordPress' Gutenberg editor and the new #Nextcloud WYSIWYG editor (which uses Markdown)
