@rasterweb Don’t feel bad. I rerouted my ride last night a couple of times because the sky looked ominous… but it never turned into anything. Still got a ride in, which is still good.
Would you start heading home if the sky looked like this in the direction of your house?
@rasterweb@Ryanteck while on the surface sure, not sure if masculine is exactly right, powerful and intense may be a better terms. Helvetica Black used everywhere, everything is loud and conveys endurance, which comes off as masculine. Internally it’s not reflected culturally. It’s a great place to work, at least how I work.
@fistfulofdave@Ryanteck I guess I’ve never thought of the brand as masculine but always considered it to be quality, solid, strong, powerful, and expensive. (Maybe those are considered “masculine” qualities by some people?)
I did manage a 5.28 mile ride this morning before the rain. It’s been a while, felt good to get out there again. (I also reported a bunch of potholes to the city.)
@rasterweb wasn’t trying to shame or even motivate you to do more. I do it pretty seriously, 2000 miles a year. Do what works for you. Not a competition, or so I tell myself when the 25 year olds blow past me. All that matters is that you’re out doing something.
@fistfulofdave Cheers! I am just getting started. When I started doing daily walks in 2021 I started with less than 10 minutes a day, worked up to 60+ minutes most days and sometimes more on the weekends. It takes time, but I need more exercise and so far I'm enjoying it.
If you happen to be in Milwaukee this Saturday April 6th I'll be offering a bunch of my art for "Pay What You Want" but it's also to benefit a local food pantry program.
