At this point I have about 100 mods installed (via Vortex, via SteamTinkerLaunch) and some new shaders in OpenMW and this 2002 game is looking mighty sweet, if'n I do say so myself.
I'm a moderate Modder. I don't particularly like vast HD texture overhauls that give everything noisy 'grain' at the expense of the under-stated original look but in some cases they can work wonders, like in the armour you see in the second screenshot I've posted.
I bloody love OpenMW's new Shader capability, though. God-rays suit Morrowind thematically. The enhanced point-source lighting is MWAH. And those Mist/Fog shaders do absolute wonders for the atmosphere of the game. It's so great being on a mountain peak and suddenly a whole area vanishes as the mist thickens...
Morrowind is a genuine treasure. One of the high achievements of human creativity. If it were a painting it'd be in a public Gallery.
I'll be talking about this soon as I'm into my first proper playthrough in a few years. But here's a great primer on exactly what makes this unique creation so very special.

@dimillian If you find this beautiful, you should have a look at Red Dead Redemption 2, unless you already have. It’s difficult to find something that matches with that games beauty.
@buru5 They really trusted you not to get lost in Morrowind...I spent half my time figuring out the way to my destination! At least in the first half, the second half I became a pro at navigating the world.
@SirTapTap well it's not like using an instrument of destruction against a literal god of destruction would do anything so shooting Dagon is right out. 😝
@beeoproblem All 3 are basically 1 step from godhood really. 2 from Heart of Lorkhan and Daedra aren't full power outside of their own Realm, you even get to 'kill' a few here and there.
True form Hircine fight was probably my highlight of Morrowind though it's hard to pick
C'est une tradition entamée avec #Morrowind et qui était toujours en cours au moment de la sortie de #Fallout4 : j'achète toujours les RPG #Bethesda en édition collector. J'étais en train de me dire que j'allais faire pareil pour #Starfield mais 1/ je suis absolument pas hypé par Starfield ; 2/ je trouve pas la collector PC sur le site de la FNAC ou même Amazon ; 3/ 300 balles ???
@Elessache J'ai pas eu la curiosité de voir à quoi ça ressemble et du coup je ne sais quasi rien dessus, mais j'ai du mal à croire que ce soit autre chose que Skyrim (qui m'ennuie) mais avec plus de crafting et de construction (ce que j'aime le moins dans les jeux de Bethesda) dans un setting de SF générique (en plus je suis pas fan de space opera). Après j'essayerai quand même et je serai le premier ravi d'être agréablement surpris !
Vous serez sans doute ravis d'apprendre que j'ai retrouvé des photos des events organisés à destination des fans de la série en amont des sorties de #Morrowind (en 2002) et d'#Oblivion (en 2006)
Je serais curieux de retrouver une meilleure version de l'event Morrowind. J'en ai une trentaine d'autres de l'event Oblivion mais je ne voudrais pas les poster sans les accords des gens qu'on y voit.
Ce qui me fait rire c'est que pour la sortie d'Oblivion ils nous avaient mis un PC avec #Arena pour rigoler en mode "ahah regardez cette antiquité vieille de 12 ans", alors que si aujourd'hui on voulait jouer à "une antiquité vieille de 12 ans", on jouerait à... #Skyrim.
