thanks for all the years of good word who have same my time an days so many time for so many years, will miss you k9, but i'm a user of thunderbird on win and linux, I can understand it will be ok for me, stay proud of your work

As a long-time Thunderbird user, I have to say that's a really bad idea. The T-bird UI is ungainly and intimidating on the desktop, and I can't imagine any of it will translate well to mobile.
@k9mail@thunderbird@fdroidorg can we expect to get an upgrade path for k-9?
Will it keep the same internal package name so that we can keep using it?
Or will there be an option to migrate data from k-9 into Thunderbird that is easy enough for our grandparents to manage it?
For me K-9 Mail was one of main reasons to move from Maemo to Android. Mail client which worked fine and used screen space wisely. It was 13 years ago.
On desktop I use Thunderbird because "all email client sucks, this one sucks less" (mutt motto).
Hope that K9 even after rename will stay being itself.
@k9mail@thunderbird@fdroidorg wow. I used k9 mail for years... but due to some compatibility reason I switched to blue mail a few years ago. always wanted k9 back. will switch to thunderbird on release (and hope I have no compatibility issues)
@k9mail@thunderbird@fdroidorg Somewhat nostalgic - K-9 Mail was one of the apps I've installed on my 1st :android: smartphone and used ever since, daily 🤓
@k9mail as k9 user (and supporter) I want to say: thanks a lot for your hard and professional work with this software I use everyday!!! I will use in the future the replacement (I'm a thunderbird user in desktop also)
