The only users in that thread who seem supportive of this change and are berating “the other redditors throwing a fit” for whatever reason, and I count three of them, seem to all:
Have accounts 1-3 months old
Not have participated in /r/diving before this thread
Of course, the redditor here dives immediately into schizo nonsense while ignoring the majority of users (lurkers).

Sure, buddy. It’s 37k readers, and the top comment has 28 net votes. It’s amazing how you people think the terminally online who constantly scroll and click around are representative of the average user.
The only people that matter to the popularity of a sub are the people making the content and posting.
The average lurker is there for information and interest. If the people who actually contribute content, ie. Not the average lurker, are not happy with the changes and are being vocal about it and leaving as a result of the new moderation team trying to end the protest then the quality, frequency, usefulness of the content (basically what keeps the lurkers there) goes to shit and the sub becomes a ghost town.
Sure the average user might not care about the protests but the average user doesnt post or comment/offer the information and co tent that keeps the subs interesting/alive.
Its amazing that you people think the people who made reddit what it was are not important to the website and somehow lurkers who contribute nothing are.
Edit: oh! Look at that, youve been here a few days and have 0 posts and a hanful of comments that have all got negative votes. Almost everything you have said has been to insult the people you are replying to.
Frankly mate. Go back to reddit. I think you would fit i a little better there with all the other lurkers that you so love.

I don’t know anything about diving except that you can die doing it if you don’t train and/or you do stupid things. Thinking of r/Canning and how the mods there actively worked to get dangerous and even deadly info off their sub before Reddit kicked them off, hopefully no one dies from bad info on r/diving because of these two ass scabs.
Looks ok (for us) to me. If I have not deleted all my comments, I would have applied to be the mod of as many subreddits as possible and proceed to ban as many user and delete as many comment as possible, effectively burning down the subreddits.
that is /r/diving, /r/scuba is the more popular and more active sub… which I’m quite sure they didn’t protest at all? I used to be active there, iirc there’s only one active mod there (dive biologist), the rest of the mods are mostly idle…
Yeah, so many useful idiots parroting the phrase “the mods are powertripping!”. Sure, we’ve all seen asshole mods, but these scabs are going to really teach a lot of people the true meaning behind the word powermod. I’m glad I stocked up on popcorn!

Holy crap lol, when I visited the /u/ModCodeofConduct account recently, all the posts nowadays are simply just trying to find mods for literally a huge range of subreddits. Lmao it’s insane seeing the new mods just banning users left and right.
Given the perfectly equal upvotes and downvotes, not sure if this is a little joke that literally just says “removed by mod” or if it said something previously that was removed by a mod, and is now a funny little joke lol.
I’m glad that Reddit is returning to normalcy and it’s amazing how well they’ve handled the protests. They always find clever solutions that bring the community together even with the protests being much ado about nothing in the first place.
