Is it even effective copyright protection if the keys are stored on Nintendo's consoles? Someone could copy the game and play it on a different console I guess.
@boilingsteam@linuxgamingcentral to be honest, Nintendo is relying on the fact that no one has the money to go against them, so they are willing to try and block things that are normally allowed because very few can stop them.
@boilingsteam@linuxgamingcentral not arguing that. It's why I love my steam deck. Unfortunately my wife didn't because it was too big, bulky, and heavy. But I'm sure I can switch her over in a few years as the tech improves and they get slimmer and lighter.
@yulian@linuxgamingcentral It won't get lighter and slimmer anytime soon. PC games are more and more demanding, and this conflicts with having just enough battery life to be enjoyable on the go, and effective heat dissipation
@boilingsteam Stop hosting piracy projects within the reach of the DMCA. Make Nintendo deal with some backwards south american court that could give 2 shits about copyright
@boilingsteam Yes, but there is no way this can continue in a time where nintendo charges an arm and a leg for underpowered hardware when soon even a toaster will be running RDNA3-grade hardware. They can recoup all the hardware sales easily selling games on steam. I would buy all marios and Kirby's on Steam in a heartbeat.
@PalePimp that may be a smart business decision but you forget that these people have "control freaks" written all over their DNA - they'd rather die than give some freedom away
