@jaz BTW I think it’s interesting to also list instances that are not open for registration, maybe with a filter. It shows there’s a community to interact with. If you want to learn a particular language you may watch public timelines on various instances for accounts to follow.

I know for example ursal.zone which is the largest Brazilian instance (around 3k users I think) isn’t open for registration but new members are added regularly ( ask @Ursalzona about details)

@Ursalzona Pois é. Juro que um dos maiores argumentos que eu tenho para tentar convencer pessoas que mastodon é legal é exatamente “Olha, tem uma instância da Ursal, com ursinho e tudo”.

Isso dito entendo que além de um certo o tamanho do tempo / custo chega a um absurdo e acaba virando um emprego (mal pago) a tempo completo. Sem contar a carga emocional.
