@noellemitchell this is odd. From what have seen in posts over the last few days, their account doesn’t seem to have posts that warrant hiding their profile. But their X account is also suspended for breaking their rules.
I’m unclear if it was for the IWD post or something else.
@andrew I agree, it is really odd. I've seen some other people on here say their accounts were hidden by mastodon.social too, so it seems to be something that they do often.
@noellemitchell@andrew That is why I support the smaller Fediverse platforms. It's a much better experience and I've found this corner of Fedi I am on has lots of really genuine and awesome people.
@NumbersCanBeFun Yeah I think I'm going to consider making an account on a small server that's not Mastodon. Probably would be a good idea as a backup in case something happens with Mastodon. I hope nothing does happen but I'm worried about the shadow banning accounts thing.
@noellemitchell You already know what I would suggest so I'll skip that part and offer something different. FediDB.org is an awesome source for finding software and looking up popular servers.
@NumbersCanBeFun I'm definitely intimidated by the thought of finding a server 😅 especially after firefish.social ended abruptly 🫤 I enjoyed Firefish while I was on there though.
@NumbersCanBeFun Okay I'll keep that in mind 😅 it definitely is the hardest part, makes me want to just stay on this server and not even try other software 😂
