A 15 minute call where I’ll promptly forget what was said. I’ve got emails from years ago that I check back on regularly because I forgot some detail or another. I had a meeting a few hours ago where I’m already starting to forget what was discussed. I took notes, but they’re chicken scratch that attempted to get everything down on paper, only to prove to be illegible nonsense.
The weekly meetings could often be an email, “Hope all is well, we’ve made steady progress on project X and no additional discussions is needed.”
But also so much can be solved so quickly, at work and otherwise, with one fucking quick phone call. People are getting so phone call adverse these days it’s wild.
I got drunk at a friend’s house playing red flags once and kept texting my wife how great she was and telling everybody at the table how great she was. She was in the room.
Guys jfc this is the saddest dogpile. Support Ernest or leave. A week or two ago I was frustrated too, but now he has responded and is hard at work. Be patient or move on.
It’s not. It’s just whining. People seeing a few top posts realizing if they add to the chorus they too can reap magic internet points. We saw this on Reddit for like 15 years or however old it is.
I see we’ve also adopted the Reddit habit of taking comments only 100% literally.
People were also doing this prior to votes not working. It’s been going on for days now. Even though Ernest is now way more responsive again people are complaining more than ever.
Read his updates, decide to stay or move on. It’s that simple.
Completely agree with you. For christs sake, Ernest is one dude and this site has better uptime than fucking spectrum internet and theyre a multi billion dollar corporation. Get a grip
Thats why you were typing +1 on multiple comments before I thought you just pressed send multiple times because you thought it didnt send.
I have a few duplicate posts I cant delete atm. Ironically it was a post about some filters to hide spam.
Btw have a +1.
I haven't even been able to view posts/comments (they just 50x) for more than a day. I just noticed that I can if I log out, so I'm not sure how others are able to comment unless it's some technical thing (like that I signed up via OAuth). Especially with threads showing as 0 comments and 0 votes I just assumed nobody could.
IMO all of these date ranges are wrong (at least, if they’re supposed to be the heyday of the genre).
It seems to be a common misconception nowadays that e.g. Jules Verne is steampunk. This is understandable, as steampunk consciously borrows the styles and tropes of that period, but he was actually just writing contemporary science fiction.
