Hmmm when Microsoft dominated the PC OS business I didn’t see DOJ coming after them? No one is forcing people to buy an iPhone. There are other options. (I’ve had them since 2007 by choice)

Yeah iOS is only 27% of global marketshare. Android is 71%.

In the US, iOS is 60%, but android is still ~40%. It doesn’t quite seem like a monopoly.

hasnt_seen_goonies,

They are suing for uncompetetive business practices, not because they are a monopoly.

The specific practices (according to the suite), hurt those that purchase apple products and use apple services by giving them less choice and higher prices. The Sherman antitrust act is the law that they are using for the suit IS a law made to disallow monopolies, but it also was made to put guardrails for large corporations that are behaving in ways that unfairly hurt competitors in the marketplace. Whether you think that Apple’s business practices have done that is up to you, but it doesn’t rely on market share.

The title literally says monopoly in it
