Is there a day of any given year that is least special?
As in, no events, no holidays whatsoever in any place in the world. Or maybe the least eventful day of a year.
Maybe statistically, Feb 29 would be the one. But other than that, what else?

Agentseed,
inspxtr, oh nice!!! Thanks! That looks like Feb 29 really is the smallest in that measure. Wonder what the next smallest is.
orphiebaby, Love me some XKCD.
thecitywelivein, March 11th seems like a good candidate
LordOfLocksley, That’s only relevant to america though
Judgy_McJudgerson, Oh! I know this one! It’s the dot above the i in Jeremy Bearimy. It’s Tuesday, July, and sometimes never. It’s the moment when nothing never happens.
Spoonraker,
TheGreenGolem, We should recreate r/notinteresting
MrJukes, Definitely not April 25th. Because it’s not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket.
LordOfLocksley, (edited ) The first is 18th January with the next being 30th January, at least in 2024.
www.officeholidays.com/calendars/2024/01
You have to remember, some religious holidays follow calendars other than the normal one, e.g. Easter follows the lunar calendar, so changes each year, so what might be a special day this year, isn’t next year.
Other days with no national holidays in 2024 are:
7th March, 3rd April, 11th May, 8th June, 23rd August, 22nd October, 13th November, 27th November, 14th December, 28th December
Kolanaki, Feb 29 is special because it only happens once every 4 years, tho.
I would think the least remarkable day, the day that is least special would be just, like… Tuesday.
PierreKanazawa, Would the least special day actually be forgotten by the comments? It's left to be see...
solrize, January 1 is special for being new year’s day. And if any days after January 1 are not special, then the earliest of them would be the first non-special day of the year, which is special in it’s own right, giving a contradiction. Therefore, there are no non-special days. They are all special, so make the most of each one.
FaceDeer, An amusing related concept; the interesting number paradox.
venusenvy47, If you are a Grateful Dead fan, there are five days that are the least interesting: gratefuldeadoftheday.com/01-09-1965/
Jan 1, Jan 19, Feb 29, Aug 9 and Dec 25.
Those are the only days of the year that they never played a concert.
orphiebaby, I think the best way to figure this out would be to do research on world holidays and start putting together a calendar. I can see a really interesting and informative video about this.
Hey VSauce! Michael here!
inspxtr, lol I’m very inclined to scrape wikipedia and do some stats now to figure it out
orphiebaby, I believe in you!
ghostcookies, but if you found the least special day, that would make it quite special, wouldn’t you say?
so it would have to be next one, but wait.
all i’m saying is be careful before you collapse the universe
edit: i was late to the party
perviouslyiner, Wikipedia has an “on this day” template for every day of the year (the one included in their front page) - just go through and find the shortest one
scottmeme, For me it’s honestly my birthday, February 14 aka Valentine’s day.
I don’t really have anyone else to celebrate with other than close family, so it’s never really meant anything to me other than adding a number.
orphiebaby, I think they meant worldwide and statistically, not personally.
Aesthesiaphilia, Scottmeme has not yet developed a Theory of Mind
WhatASave, How about today? It doesn’t feel very special
Jordan_the_hutt, Today is bastille day.
kemmyLilmister, Nah I’m having a party, so major event
JackbyDev, Let’s say January 20th.
jdgordon, That’s my birthday! Also usually gets the state of the union in America so mildly important there
JackbyDev, Happy birthday!
