See you tomorrow for the @openstreetmap Local Chapters and Communities Congress (LCCC) 2024 - the virtual gathering of #openstreetmap communities & contributors!
OSM Teams is a tool for creating teams and roles in the #OpenStreetMap ecosystem for management of groups and communities to organize around existing tools like Tasking Manager, OSMCha, or iD, and improves collaboration.
A nearby city call these crossings as "Gora¹ Lanes", an attempt to make walking fun, attractive, and accessible to more people.
From the screenshot² below, it's something like an arty zebra (or "continental") crossing, and I saw minimal use of crossing:markings=artwork in #OpenStreetMap, and taggable with crossing:markings=yes.
I agree that it could be used for initial mapping, and interpolation makes it "work" in some fashion -- at the very least, one gets close enough to the area you want to.
That's slightly better than having no mapped addresses, or mapping individual address POIs, without interpolation.
I agree except for one thing: interpolation is way better than having no address at all. Even if it’s not precise, at least the user can have some routing.

To change the tile URL, tap Menu, look for >SCEE settings > Data Management, then select tile source for satellite/aerial images, and enter the URL.
When editing #OpenStreetMap on the go, @everydoor is my hands-down favorite, but I'd hesitate recommending it for more new mappers.
I've been playing with #OsmGo just now, and really like how easy it is, maybe even for new contributors.
Plus, it's a progressive web app that runs in a browser, or installable in your device: https://osmgo.com , so this also seems to be a great candidate tool to introduce as a friendly editor for @openstreetmap mapping parties for new users.
Our local #Oxford UK bus company has some official route colours, it seems: https://www.oxfordbus.co.uk/services/park-ride. I'm sort of assuming we can't just pick those colours off their website and paste the hex code into colour=* on the main route relation, since it's part of somebody's branding and stuff.
@retiolus@openstreetmap@organicmaps I think it's fair for apps to become financially viable, and really poor form when people criticize apps for trying to be financially viable. The Organic Maps team does a ton of unpaid work and yet people use it and expect developers to work for them for free, but also reject apps that are built by paid developer working in for profit companies. I applaud Organic Maps finding a way to ensure it has long and healthy future!
