I have been given the task of finding a proper platform for building a network of education, medical and other initiatives in my country, that have all the same focus (I am sorry I can’t give details yet on the project, but you could probably could get a grasp of the idea if you think in something like a church whose...
Hiya, so quickly wondering wether you have enabled this or not. Obviously it’s not great for privacy, but it also seems very nice to have for image cloud solutions, so that images can be sorted based on location. Are there any good solutions for this? I’d like have it enabled, but also afraid of sharing images with sensitive...
Hey all! I’m wondering if someone can help me pick between these two apps. They seem to be the most commonly recommended Android front-ends for OpenStreetMaps, but I’m wondering what the pros/cons/differences are. Thanks in advance!
I’m gonna be giving a bit of contrarian advise here: don’t force yourself. No-one asked you to do this all, so take it easy and one bit at a time. If you are a volunteer, just have some fun with it. When you don’t feel like continuing anymore, don’t.
Another piece of advice: “if you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together”. (But the latter is more work). If you live in a medium-sized (or bigger) city, maybe there are a few people interested in joining? Post to the local facebook group and do a small gathering with a cup of tea and map together.

I used this one or a similar one a while back. Pure magic. It started downloading a ton of stuff, and half an hour later I was greated by a (slow) macOS, good enough to do some tests of my webapp on Safari.
My daughter (4) is very into exploring cities, homes and villages in Skyrim, feeding aliens in No Man’s Sky, and cleaning houses in House Flipper. She gets annoyed in games like House Flipper because she can’t leave the property to explore all of the visible houses on the block. I’d like to find other PC games that are...
When editing #OpenStreetMap on the go, @everydoor is my hands-down favorite, but I'd hesitate recommending it for more new mappers.
I've been playing with #OsmGo just now, and really like how easy it is, maybe even for new contributors.
Plus, it's a progressive web app that runs in a browser, or installable in your device: https://osmgo.com , so this also seems to be a great candidate tool to introduce as a friendly editor for @openstreetmap mapping parties for new users.
My biggest wish is that there’s an easy way to contribute images to wikimedia and to link them easily with osm. As soon as that’s possible, we’ll map the world much quicker and more reliable. Someone might take pictures of benches and another one will add the info if there’s a backrest from home.

Bonus points if there’s a known onomatopoeia to describe the sound.
Why do maps that use OSM as a backend have more detail that OSM?
