They hired a New Orleans magician for $150 to do 20min of work to create the deepfake. He came forward, because he didn’t know they were going to use what he did to suppress votes.
Edit: it was a New Orleans magician, not New Hampshire.
I didn’t report it, but it is a very click-baity, Taboola-esque title with a subhead that matches. I can easily see why people would assume this to be a spam post, especially given the link source.
