One of the things that always stuns me about these superintelligence believer clowns is that they talk about #AI as if it's some kind of autonomous entity forged in the skull of a few genius men. @annaleen it was so infuriating to see few years ago some tech bros without any knowledge trying to "solve cancer" with ML and who got millions. So much ignorance, so much money and time wasted... And this is not going to get better any time soon

He probably doesn’t know about them. His career has been working on architectures and models for AI systems, primarily based on neural nets. I doubt he’s been involved in the creation of products for application use, so he wouldn’t have come across the way data is tagged and categorized in real life (on the backs of Global South gig workers).
@annaleen I once read that Ayn Rand didn’t notice the awfulness of what she wrote until she had to contend with personal difficulties (and even then it was hard)
