Probably a night of sleep that was slightly helpful to the state of me. A longer than desired wakeup period during it, but not nearly so long as what I've been experiencing recently.
I've already had tea and a banana to help me wake up. Washed and smoothed my face. Making another pot of tea. Getting myself sorted to be ready for when Ginza shows up outside so i can go out and sit and chat with her. This morning I'm not going to make any effort to coax her inside the apartment...
It's too risky that upstairs neighbor might leave for work and that could startle Ginza badly again with how sensitive she is about listening for any possible threats to her safety.
So today I will just work with petting her and feeding her outside and let her make her own decisions about what she wants to do. Keep working on building familiarity and trust with her.
I had a good sit and chat with Ginza. I was outside drinking my last cup of tea when she emerged from the tomato plants in front of an apartment on other side of courtyard. She then somewhat reluctantly crossed the wet grass after I called to her.
I fed her treats and breakfast, gave her good pets and scratches, and let her sniff catnip I put on the sidewalk. Some pics to come when I can settle back in.
That weather forecast is one that makes me wish I could just scoop Ginza up in my arms and bring her inside and tell her I want her to stay warm and dry
Apocalyptic peril or apocalyptc apparel, that is the question.
But nevermind that. So long as I have my faithful honey badger and cockroach companions to guard my flanks, I will walk through the ballyhoo of gravely beset souls.
Favorite photo of Ginza today is this closeup of the right side of her face. It's blurry some but not too bad considering how she doesn't sit still when right close to me. She's too busy rubbing against my legs or trying to rub her against my hand #CatsOfMastodon
Got the laundry sorted and folded. Made the bed with the freshly cleaned dinosaur sheets. Nothing better than falling asleep in the embrace of freshly clean dinosaur sheets
As a note about sheet patterns, my favorite set of winter flannel sheets were ones with reindeer silhouettes. Those were great sheets and I've never seen them again since that one set I bought in the late 90s
Same... chashu is in the oven we just got (countertop model)
Noodles are cut, broth is made... i need to still do the negi, marinated eggs, and moyashi toppings, but ramen is the best of comfort foods...
