adamjcook, 1 year ago A couple more snaps from walking around yesterday. Very walkable. #Rockford has done an excellent job resisting turning their older buildings into parking lots when they fell into disuse - and it looks like that is paying dividends now. #HistoricalBuildings

adamjcook, 1 year ago Downtown #Rockford, #Illinois looking East to Southeast. Narrated by yours truly. A video of Downtown Rockford, Illinois that pans across the Rock River during the early afternoon hours on a clear day. On the far side of the river, there is an endless view of green trees with the occasional tall building poking up through the tree tops.

adamjcook, 1 year ago More walking around #Rockford, #Illinois. From yesterday. A photograph of the Rockford City Market entrance. The Rockford City Market is a collection of small shops and bakeries with a large event hall on its lowest level. The building appears to be constructed from red brick and it probably used to be a warehouse or factory of some sort. The entrance doorway is straddled by two large glass garage doors. A photograph of Joe Marino Park in Downtown Rockford, Illinois with the Rock River in the background. There is a statue of Joe Marino, who was apparently beloved in the city for his fireworks displays over the Rock River, is featured in the center of the park with a steel, laser cut sign featuring the park's name above the statue. On the left side of the photograph, the old News Tower building is partially shown. A photograph taken from the 12th floor window of the old Rockford Trust building in Downtown Rockford, Illinois. The camera is pointed towards the southeast down East State Street. The Rock River is shown in the background and the red-bricked Faust Landmark building is seen in the distance.
