My Apple ID got locked last night. I unlocked it, but my Mac still asks me to unlock the Apple ID. When I click the notification though, it just asks me to reset the password, which I’ve already done twice. Anyone know what’s going on here?

@talon @devinprater The last time I dealt with this, because I tried to use an IPA thing on the Mac, I fixed it on my iPhone, and just ignored my Mac. Notification went away. Maybe if I answered the Mac notification, I would be put into a change password loop.

My Apple ID is not actually locked, as far as I can tell. My phone works fine. In fact, the Apple account works fine on the mac too. It just keeps asking me to unlock it. This is quite annoying.

@talon @feonixrift this happens to me like one or twice a month for a secondary Apple ID account I don’t use daily.

The problem in my case is that it’s a well known name @icloud.com so people either mistaken it for their own and trigger the lock or they outright try to own it, triggering the lock.

Suffice to say it’s a royal pain in the butt.

@0xf0 @feonixrift There seems to have been a magic threshhold of signing out and back in a few times that fixed the problem, at least for now. But this is also the first time I have had my account locked so this is not a common occurance.
