I have to be honest: I thought this request was a phish attempt at first.

Not sure but all my interactions in the area are characterized by what I feel a lack of presence of my interlocutor.

It seems as though many many people lost the “light” in their eyes and just the shell is left.

@RL_Dane probably a bit of both. The thing that balances things out is that apparently other few folks I have around on a daily basis seem to have the same feelings: most folks seem and behave as if they were empty of any sort of high level reasoning.

We’re thinking - seriously - to just leave as we don’t think this is a healthy area for a kid to grow up in: we’ll see in the next few months if I survive the neverending attempts to my mental sanity.

My Apple ID got locked last night. I unlocked it, but my Mac still asks me to unlock the Apple ID. When I click the notification though, it just asks me to reset the password, which I’ve already done twice. Anyone know what’s going on here?

@talon @feonixrift this happens to me like one or twice a month for a secondary Apple ID account I don’t use daily.

The problem in my case is that it’s a well known name @icloud.com so people either mistaken it for their own and trigger the lock or they outright try to own it, triggering the lock.

Suffice to say it’s a royal pain in the butt.

OpenAI has updated some of the documentation about its crawler which happens to be called GPTBot.

If you have a website and want to disallow it this is the robots.txt to use:

User-agent: GPTBot
Disallow: /

If you want to disallow only certain paths:

User-agent: GPTBot
Allow: /directory-1/
Disallow: /directory-2/

Anybody knows how to start up or xterm with a different .Xresources file than your main one? Like, for example, with a command-line option indicating another config file to use.

I want to be write a script to launch urxvt with a larger font for reading on the terminal with . Hacks appreciated!

@kzimmermann @joel haven’t used that in eons but if memory serves you can override individual settings from the command line (eg which font to use and such…)
