I don't see how this will apply to overseas hosted content? Will they force the block list to be massively increased if foreign companies doesn't comply? 🫤🤷‍♂️

@simonzerafa @eff Ofcom will have 2 kinds of legal remedies for non-compliance.

If the provider has a corporate presence in the UK (e.g. a subsidiary, an ad-selling agent), there will be sanctions as set out in the Act.

Failing that, Ofcom will require ISPs to block the traffic, or risk losing their own license.

Ofcom's bigger problem is that they can't require something that isn't technically feasible (yet), or isn't logically feasible (ever).

A reforming Act will be along in due course.
