I really need the Democrats to start pushing the "Chaos Caucus" message. If House MAGAs shut down the govt again, we should have ads ready to flood the airwaves with "this shutdown courtesy of the CHAOS CAUCUS" message. No Social Security? THANK THE CHAOS CAUCUS.

We're in a messaging war, and Republicans are always ahead of the game. We are way behind in the infrastructure needed to grab the mic and spread our message.

@Litzz11 I agree with the spirit of your post, but, and maybe it’s just me, but CHAOS CAUCUS sounds too cool, like an ensemble metal band that comes onstage wearing outlandish costumes and has people swinging from trapeze on the ceiling.

badken,

@LukeF @Litzz11 I think the problem with your problem is that the CHAOS CAUCUS is very practiced at repurposing labels and redefining things. Pretty much any label that might be adopted will be appropriated and made to sound cool. It is already the case that some fools believe the (aka) NSDAP weren’t that bad. It’s difficult to go lower than that label, yet there are those who are proud to be called that.

Maniacs absolutely should be called out, but I have no idea how.

@badken @LukeF It’s only “cool” within the MAGA bubble, that 27-30% of brainwashed idiots. We aren’t trying to reach them. Most people don’t pay attention to politics and need to be fed information in catchy sound bites.

@Litzz11

True (unfortunately)

badken,

@Litzz11 @LukeF My favorite example of political redefinition is the fate of the phrase “sustainable development.” Once upon a time, in the hippie days of my halcyon youth, that phrase meant that corporations seeking to exploit natural resources needed to consider the impact of that exploitation on the environment, local economies, etc. Some time in the late 1980s, that definition was flipped to mean that environmental concerns need to be restricted to ensure continued profitability. Creepy.

senatorbrownshirt,

@Litzz11

Good point.

And it should be noted that too many Democrats make this claim while remaining silent themselves - not realizing that THEY are the best messengers.

Instead, Democrats are prone to direct fire at their own and not at the opposition.

This can change, but it takes an attitude adjustment.

Cheers.
