I've been avoiding the bird site but a friend passed me a screenshot of people pulling the "ecofascism isn't a thing" discourse again.
It's impossible to judge how much of this eternal recurrence is the result of ideological defensiveness by newbies to green politics and how much is the willful and incessant lying of older greens who know damn well better, but it's deeply depressing nonetheless.
We are never going to integrate basic antifascist insights or antibodies into anarchism.
There is a real sense in which I feel like the conscious deliberate decision by some anarchists to hide everything from Sadie & Exile to the Wolves of Vinland to Hardin to Linkola is a catastrophe in a moment of discursive weakness that will have negative world historical consequences decades from now as radical green politics grow much more popular from spreading ecological collapse and without internal resistance ecofash creep eats up a much much larger ideological market share.
To be clear, the Tragedy of the Commons is a real dynamic in game theory regularly confirmed by tons of examples worldwide. It's not a lie. Hardin misrepresented it by overemphasizing how innate and inescapable the problem was, but Elinor Ostrom was always very clear that it's a very real thing. Hence the complexity and effort of the non-state or collective solutions she researched.
Yeah, it's literally the exact same shit as "national bolshevism isn't real" with isomorphic defenses like "the only real fascists are the anti-communists" and "if it's fascist it can't be bolshevist so there's no need to refer to 'red-brown' or 'national bolshevism.'"

I've held my nose and defended Happy from the ecofash accusations (trivially a absolute piece of shit reactionary monster and aggressive apologist and coverer for ecofash, but not technically fascist in the same way that ITS isn't "technically" fascist) but that post straight up crosses the line into full fascist shit.
@rechelon a writeup on Boyd Rice and the pro-inequality symbol (which he claims to have come up with) is on the to-do list since there aren't many good resources tying it all together.
I'm still screaming about the brazen line-crossing of that post. Is there any antifascist alive that doesn't know the history of that symbol? Is Happy trading on having an audience too young to remember scraping down those stickers and getting into brawls with fash over it?

btw, an anticiv (and "Read Desert" bio) was calling out racism in Desert (iirc, it was telling white ppl to make up white myths about white aboriginality and white ethnicity and so on), and UncivilizedFrog was like "that's not racist, that's good racism".
