My daughter, starting her third year at UCSC dresses in a similar fashion. She even has the same pajamas. Crocs instead of Birkenstocks.
It seems to be the current aesthetic.

That thing’s practically new enough to have not been bought at an actual Sears store.
But I applaud its use as a carry-on. Very highly functional.
@Teri_Kanefield my only beef with this picture is the socks. 1. You do t wear socks with sandals. No exceptions. 2. If you’re going to wear socks period, make them interesting.
But everything else here seems perfectly normal. Good find on that toolbox.
I just want to warn you: I married the guy I met in college who wore his Birkenstocks with socks. And the Craftsman toolbox wouldn't have deterred me, had he had one.
You never know what's going to happen when you send your kid off to college!
