@wjmaggos Doing the right thing is what one should do, but not in order to receive something in return. That is disingenuous and violates what's "right".
"Othering" is best achieved when there's not honest discourse and people are siloed.
Punching people you don't like is by definition the downward spiral. Self-defense is different.
Punching ideas is good and correct. One's claims should be able to survive any onslaught.
