ned,

And the UCP says we must privatize healthcare.

@ned Meaning that for the last five years has been openly calling for healthcare as a subscription service that ends with death.

swordgeek,

@JBShakerman @ned That article was five years ago, before COVID came along.

Not saying they've changed their mind, but they have probably come up with a whole bucketful of new ways to exploit sickness for profit.

@ned Remember when the idea of medical companies suppressing cures to diseases in order to profit from long term treatment was just an idea from a sci-fi movie about a dystopian future where a data runner needs a dolphin to hack the info in his head? Good times

    ned,

@panamared27401 It's not so easy as saying, "You're trying to emulate the worst system in the entire world", to the Premier (our equivalent of a State Governor) who says that Governor DeSantis is amazing and we need to be more like him in ...

    ned,

@panamared27401 Her, but truly the only way out is for us to vote in a new government in 4 years and hope that there's something left to salvage. Selling off all public resources to the highest bidder is the very core of their ideology. It's not just the Premier, but the entire party.

We do need to convince the people, though. In particular, rural since the cities are already on board but the rural areas which house about 25% of the population hold half the seats to form gov't.

@ned See, we can get their attention if we change that headline to "Is curing CUSTOMERS a sustainable business model? Yes."

Eventually when all your customers are dead your business model kinda takes care of itself, but your average VC, executive or board member doesn't care because they'll have cashed out to live on a beach somewhere.

    ned,

@tezoatlipoca It's much like how they try to make us think that "raising wages for workers will cost more for consumers".... AS IF WE AREN'T THE SAME PEOPLE.

Taking "divide and rule" to its limit.

Also, "Motorists never get out of their cars and walk. Or take public transit".
