The next big social network is just the Web. ActivityPub is a new standard that turns any website into a social network profile.

Websites hosted by WordPress⁣⁣.⁣com can now be followed, reposted, liked, and commented upon by people using Mastodon and other social web apps in just 1 click.

@Jeremiah I kind of understand why, but it's a shame they limited it to wordpress.com hosted sites... I have five wordpress sites including two businesses that are all self hosted.

Self hosted sites can easily publish updates to the fediverse but it's one way only. It would be fantastic if posts to the fediverse could be comments on blogs...

@ctproduced I might be missing something, but the ActivityPub plugin for WordPress was released first for self-hosted installations and fediverse replies appear as comments on your site. https://wordpress.org/plugins/activitypub/

@Jeremiah Maybe it was my mistake. I'll set aside time to have a look at it properly. Thanks for taking time to reply.
