If you're in a progressive group that posts to X, volunteer to start accounts on Masto (and if you can stomach it, BlueSky and/or Threads), manually mirror the posts, and engage as needed. It's a little thing we can do to reduce the left's dependence on fascist fuel.

I normally wouldn't do this but... I am currently trying to convince IfNotNow to let me pilot presences on non Twitter microblogging platforms. They are open to it but more as a "mid- to long-term project". I'm hoping to bend that timeline. @spacehobo I think I've found it incompatible with mastodon.social unfortunately (can't follow those accounts from here). Probably better to just do it by hand anyway, for the sake of things like adding alt text, correcting @ names, and other little things.
