Maybe firing everyone who knew how Twitter works wasn't such a good idea after all.

mattblaze,
@mattblaze@federate.social avatar

Perhaps DeSantis would have had better luck on truth.social.

drakenblackknight,
@drakenblackknight@mastodon.online avatar

@mattblaze Rhonda Santis would have better luck as a used car salesman.

@mattblaze Have you seen TFG already laying waste to Elon over his hosting DeSantis?

intothewestaway,

@mattblaze "truth" 😂

olavf,

@mattblaze
Nah that place is all Trumpers. I'm sure someplace like OANN would have gone gonzo over the idea tho

    Trump has way too much time and hubris in truth social to abandon it. Unless the spac merger fails, at which point the company is dead.
    Even trump knows if he started posting on the twit his baby would be abandoned

    fgbjr,

    @mattblaze Musk could offer an interview to Trump, challenging him to also crash the systems with his own alleged popularity. That would be fair and balanced.

    Hehehe… 😎

    MacChoiligh,

    @mattblaze Ask software and computer engineers if Musk knows what he is doing.

    bruce_korb,

    @mattblaze Hmm. Who knew?

    toallpointswest,

    @mattblaze Oh come on what kind of idiot would fire everybody who knows how his platform works?

    Oh wait... 😂😂😂

    @xs4me2@mastodon.social avatar

    @mattblaze

    Why? Musk knows everything!

    sundew,

    @mattblaze It does seem very much like Musk wants Twitter to fail.

    @mattblaze It's worked out quite well for the Fediverse, though.

    The new CEO should consider re-hiring those willing to come back and fix things.

    noletto,

    @mattblaze they knew how Twitter works *in the favor of their political views

    mathaetaes,

    @mattblaze I dunno. It worked out pretty well for the good of society today.

    takaya,

    @mattblaze depends on your objectives

    olavf,

    @mattblaze

    It depends on your perspective. From where I sit, Elon keeping reasonable staffing levels might have kept his social deviance changes less obvious

    mergy,
    @mergy@self.social avatar

    @mattblaze but every Elon type of guy thinks he is the only critical one and everyone else is there riding on him, so not surprising.

    scenario,

    @mattblaze @servelan I can’t even post a GIF there. 🤣

    jack_daniel,

    @mattblaze dont they stress test their own systems before a big day. Bonkers. They could have tested any other day and nobody would have noticed. Botching up a presidential candidate's announcement takes a whole different level of unpreparedness.

    mwhelm,

    @mattblaze On the other hand, maybe it was ....

    gettingcomputey,

    @mattblaze And the employees who had to stay because of visas and the like now get to hear about how inefficient they are. 🤡

    Just hope at least one of them answered "Looking into it".

    I wonder how long he's going to be in the decision tree at Boca Chica. He's not actually in charge of anything at SpX (arguably that's why they're in business) but they let him make Starship engineering decisions. That program now has the former NASA deputy admin for cargo & human spaceflight and she's moving there

    Fwiw the rocket was fine. The failure was the launchpad and arguably predictable. The fix is questionable & hopefully overridden or it'll be his last decision

    olavf,

    @cassidy
    The failure was literally the most powerful rocket ever launched dumped all its power at ignition against a concrete pad, which cratered and threw debris into the engine bay. There were at least 7 engine outs, four on liftoff (the nature of the rocket means you can count them from the photos)

    adamshostack,

    @mattblaze I mean, there’s a lot riding on criteria here.

    @mattblaze naturally, he chalked it up to his own account's popularity.
