@noiq@pancake i had a pretty chill day, mostly just puttered around, did some shopping and had a few nice meals. tried to see a barber but that did not go well at all, hah
@Viss it is now tomorrow. Happy birthday. It is not weird, but I think it’s very important everyone who can go see the ocean on their birthday does so.
@Viss there's a reason millenials will be the last generation with a half way decent immune system. I attribute me not getting as sick in my old age too my years of diving head first with my mouth open and tongue out into that foot cheese smelling pile of plastic orbs
One thing that I don't think that works is boxing/fighting with a shit-ton of protectors. At least a kickboxer told me, you'd still be very much able to get messed up.
Instead of going out to a nice dinner, find a cooking class with an opening and learn how to MAKE a nice dinner! (short notice, but maybe for next year?)
@Sfwmson oh i throw down pretty hard in the kitchen as it is. If i were to take a cooking class it would be a patisserie class because theres some super cool dessert voodoo i want to learn how to do (I can trivially throw down croissants, various breads, crepes suzette. never made panna cotta before, but i can make custard from scratch)
@Viss dude. you live in one of the best places in the lower 48; find a really good beach and enjoy yourself. Silver Strand is a great option; I got some fantastic photos there during golden hour and sunset a few years back. Very uncrowded, lots of great striations in the sand color, nice drive back.
@Viss ... but I'm always partial to a beach visit, especially just walking and enjoying things on my own. Occasional surfing too. That ice cream place in Encinitas is worth a visit too - Cali Cream - then take a walk on Moonlight Beach.
