Damn, just realised the chance of my PCBs ordered today getting here this week is approaching zero, and the two bank holidays next week just make it drag on to Wednesday!

On a technical note, we had to create a library used in lots of code for UK bank holidays (and the fact that England, Northern Ireland, and Scotland vary), which needs per year tweaks (e.g. Queen dying), so that all the code we have in so many places actually knows when a holiday is coming. It is algorithmic for pretty much all with a table of overrides.
It impacts some tariffs, BACS stuff, and all sorts, all over the place.
@revk@tripplehelix We have a similar thing in my company's admin code. It includes some non-standard entries, though, like "Star Wars Day" and "Start of tinsel drinking".

@russss@saxicola@tripplehelix indeed. It should cover bank holidays (including those on a Saturday) and public holidays and say which and say if a royal decree holiday and so on. It could have all the useful data. But no, it says if bunting or not!
Probably only relevant if you work Saturdays but your contract gives you bank holidays off. I imagine such contracts would quickly get changed when someone takes such a holiday off. I think it can only be Christmas Day, Boxing Day, or new year.
The legislation moves these if a Sunday. Extras are added when a Saturday.
