Hey, I'm Tom. I love technology and all things open source.

I have a bunch of :raspberrypi:'s running my home lab, keeping my personal life off the internet. Still a way to go before I'm completely offline, a major issue being Google Home.

I run :debian: with :xfce: and my gaming computer does too! I also have a Fairphone4 which runs :lineageos2: with MindTheGapps.

Oh wow, Music Assistant on Home Assistant is a BEAST and super simple to set up! You can find it in HACS, which will install everything necessary. I think it only works if you're running HA OS.

Got my stool sample results back today.

They found H. Pylori bacteria which isn't necessarily a bad thing but could be the cause of gastritis or possible ulcers.

So they put me on a bunch of antibiotics... Which are making me quite sick.

i was stupid and broke my desktop install after trying to mess with some mirrors. so i copied my home dir to another drive and reinstalled the OS. but it turns out that sudo cp -r doesn't copy hidden files and directories. so rip pgp and ssh keys.
trying to recover the files now

So @hackaday spent 443 characters in describing (and apologizing for) the license of BTstack when it could have said "BTstack is not ".

I typically like/trust what @tomnardi is doing, but this was a miss.

Pre-op down, minor surgery on Monday. Had an awful time today, really not looking forward to how my bodies going to react on Monday. Had a shit coffee and microwaved sandwich to make up for it.

I've put on weight, but ignoring my brain I'm perfectly healthy, which is a good sign.

@9to5linux Cool idea, shame about Wayland only. The only Pi I own with a desktop runs XFCE. Can see this being great for a classroom.

@DNS I've switched ISP, however I'm using dns.sb, I have 3W Infra B.V. from North Holland showing in my DNS requests. Are you using their services, or are my DNS requests being redirected?

Internet switches over tomorrow, so I've changed my router settings in preparation. Going to be testing how good 5G is where I am for a little while.

Definitely got some latency, will be a good test watching YouTube later.

However, I am getting 234Mbps down and 30Mbps up, My VDSL only gets 70 down, 20 up.
