For years Google has been dominant in both AI and search. Now it's threatened in both—and so are its professed values.

Doesn’t help that ’s search has become so degraded

2/3 of the results are things that do not contain the words I searched for with no way to tell it to search for the words I wante

Instead it shows me ads for vaguely related products

Heaven forbid I want a local shop selling a niche item. Then I get a list of every outlet of each big box store in my metropolitan area – none of which carry it – and no local shops that do

Google is remarkably useless now
