For those who don’t know, Threads has been infested by porn and whorebots this week, to the point regular users are ready to leave if @zuck doesn’t deal with it ASAP. Mastodon doesn’t seem to have this problem although I did block one this morning here.
@JonChevreau Some Mastodon instances are a bit less restrictive with their moderation policies than I would like to see, but by and large even the worst ones are a magnitude of order better than Facebook moderation policies. It's not even a close call.
@JonChevreau I will never engage with threads because I know who owns it. IF a media company is owned by a fascist it is a fascist media company, if it allows fascists, it is a fascist media company and if fascists are on the board of directors, it is a fascist media company.
@JonChevreau I suspect Mastodon doesn't seem to have a porn & whorebot problem for the same reason Macs didn't seem to have a virus problem. Fewer targets.
