I’m on my 4 trains, 4 tickets trip to Bourgogne

🚆

  1. Brugge-Kortrijk
  2. Kortrijk-Lille Flandres
  3. Lille Flandres-Paris Nord
  4. Paris Bercy-Nuits sous Ravières

🎫

  1. Brugge-Mouscron (€8,40 - 1 Standard Multi trip - SNCB App)
  2. Mouscron-Lille (€4,40 - SNCB Interational App - would have been €8,20 if I’d used SNCF Connect)
  3. Lille-Paris (€35 - SNCF Connect App)
  4. Paris-Nuits (€25,90 - €11,10 saved with TER BFC reduction card in SNCF Connect App)

Simple, eh?

@jon Trainline app finds Brugge - Lille for €13,40. I wonder why it's 60 cents more than your 8,4 + 4,4.

It seems all 4 tickets can be purchased with Trainline.
But not all at once, there are too many changes.

jon,

@sylvainavelo Because my Brugge-Mouscron is a special pass price that Trainline cannot sell.

@jon Mouscron or Kortrijk?

jon,
@jon@gruene.social avatar

@julienw That's the trick! Change trains in Kortrijk, change tickets (but stay on the same train) in Mouscron.

@julienw@pouet.chapril.org avatar

@jon ahah I see!
I remember I've read this was against sncf rules, don't know for sncb :-)

jon,
@jon@gruene.social avatar

@julienw it is against SNCF rules. SNCB I don’t know (the train manager accepted what I had, no questions asked). But the SNCF rule is stupid so I’ll happily not respect it - if SNCF makes stupid systems I’ll find ways around them.

@jon what was the saving over a through ticket?

jon,
@jon@gruene.social avatar

@deadliftbear no idea. Because you can't get a through ticket 🙂 (slightly sarcastic - SNCF can probably sell you 3 tickets in 1 transaction and not apply any reduction cards to what you get)

deadliftbear,
@deadliftbear@mas.to avatar

@jon SNCF why must you be like this? Sigh.

jon,
@jon@gruene.social avatar

@deadliftbear Because I am abnormal. I don't want to travel only to Paris, and only within France.

deadliftbear,
@deadliftbear@mas.to avatar

@jon sounds perfectly legit to me. But then I’m not SNCF. I’m dreading trying to use my FIP card in France this summer.

jon,
@jon@gruene.social avatar

@deadliftbear follow @wrzlbrnft @_Hemmschuh - they’re the masters of that in France!

wrzlbrnft,
@wrzlbrnft@troet.cafe avatar

@jon Wait… there are seperate NMBS apps for domestic and international travel?

jon,
@jon@gruene.social avatar

@wrzlbrnft there are indeed. You can’t buy international tickets in the national one 🤷‍♂️

Life_is,
@Life_is@no-pony.farm avatar

@jon @wrzlbrnft

But you can import all tickets into KDE Iternary.

jon,
@jon@gruene.social avatar

@Life_is @wrzlbrnft Sure. Showing the tickets is the least of the issues though!

smveerman,
@smveerman@zug.network avatar

@wrzlbrnft @jon NS the same.

@wrzlbrnft @smveerman and the company behind SNCB International and NS International is the same - Benerail. They could have one unified Benelux International ☺️
