DB ICE 731 Hamburg - Kรถln

A slowish route because all the infra is old. And itโ€™s a ICE 1 from the 1980s, renovated more than a decade ago

But the ambience on board, the comfort of the seats, are still excellent. Itโ€™s like someone actually thought โ€œwhat would passengers actually appreciate in a train interior?โ€

It doesnโ€™t feel like packing as many people in as possible was the priority. And thatโ€™s so nice ๐Ÿ˜Š

@jon I remember about 15 years ago taking a Thalys TGV from Brussels to Cologne and feeling very uncomfortable the whole way. And Iโ€™m bigger now. DB gets a lot weong, but comfort is generally right.

Trying to organise a team day for a team where we all live in different cities, stretching from Newcastle to Bristol. Birmingham or Nottingham would probably make most sense, but the rail infrastructure in this country means it might have to be bloody London.

Iโ€™d heard people say that tattoos hurt more the older you get.

They werenโ€™t lying. I wouldnโ€™t say Iโ€™m heavily tattooed but Iโ€™ve got plenty of large tattoos and this last one was definitely the hardest.

I was able to sit for the 5-6 hours needed but was very close to tapping out, which has never happened before.

If youโ€™re thinking about getting a tattoo, do it and do it now! It will hurt more tomorrow!
