Guess I have to use an android app for mastodon now since the mobile web interface, which I was happy with, is now effectively broken. Can anyone recommend an app that offers the "filter this post" option and which also allows me to put in a list of CW keywords to auto collapse while not auto collapsing all CWed posts?
Lol I'm trying to search for popular mastodon android apps and what functionality they have re: content warnings and I guess most apps just aren't documented at all since I can't turn up anything. This is going great
The fact most of you don't seem to know what "filter this post" even does (it hides a single individual post, so you don't have to see it again) kinda makes me go "damn y'all live like this?"
@eniko Ivory on iOS has it as “hide this post” and I think Tusky is the Android app that’s most often compared to Ivory, so maybe that one is what you want
@eniko alternately you could submit a patch for one that you like otherwise. Then you won't have to make the whole thing! Unless you like that of course
I fixed it thanks to @hirnsushi pointing out that under settings > flavours on glitch there's a vanilla mastodon setting that makes the duplicate post thing go away!
@eniko@hirnsushi and I think i just turned it off by opening app settings (the two cogs button in the glitch version) and unchecking "enable collapsed toots". Twimc :)
Someone should probably report it, might do later.
@virtulis@hirnsushi im very confused actually cause my desktop browser isn't showing the duplicate post even though i'm using glitch-soc flavour, not vanilla mastodon flavour
@ScottStarkey I've just installed and almost immediately uninstalled half a dozen apps so I'm not stoked about paying up front for an app that may lack basic functionality available to me on the web client
@eniko@Lulukaros I just tried it and it does support this behaviour. You can set filters to either hide posts entirely or CW, and filters that CW are always collapsed, even if you have CWs expanded otherwise.
(They look different too, filtered posts turn into a smaller plain bar that you can expand.)
@eniko I can recommend @Tusky :)
Not sure what you mean with "filter this post", but filtering content by keywords and hiding them with a CW, while automatically expanding other CWs is definitely possible.
@eniko obviously not the official one, what with the “we don’t accept issues about our UI because we have a professional UI/UX design team. No, they don’t look at this and we won’t forward your feedback” thing.
@RandomDamage oh you mean if you open the post? Yes that hides the post in the pop-up, but it also hides the filter this post menu option. So it does nothing to fix my particular problem
