Session certainly seems to be the superior chat app in terms of privacy. It's also an app that I'll never convince anyone to use. Won't happen.
Signal is still the most likely app that others will pick up, and it's certainly far from bad.
Unfortunately, like I mentioned in the past, Signal dropped SMS support so all but one person dropped the app like a lead weight and never looked back.
Effectively no one is going to use multiple apps "for the same thing".
Exposing my DID and then farming my contact database so it can tell me when people I know sign up for #Signal (and Vice Verse - it tells people who have your DID in their contact database when you're a signal user too) is an egregious invasion of my privacy!!!
I do understand that Signal has been working to get rid of the #DID requirement, and received notification of such a day or so ago, but there's still a bad taste left in my mouth for encroachments.
