Today I learned FamilyMart has a limit of 30 coins to pay for anything. This is incredibly annoying as I only ever pay in cash for bills that require it, and over years I have attained a bag of coins I need to dispense with.

Legal tender is legal tender, and either it should be accepted or the government should eliminate it.

I mean it's not like I have paying some huge amount in coins. It was only 700 yen. Most of which was in 10s, with a couple of 50s, and a few fives (and two 1s, because the cost ended in 2 yen).

I just didn't happen to have that last 1000 yen note, nor did I have any 100s.

@jezebelkat a clear solution is to split the purchase into two in order to say within the 30 coin limit on each

@FlockOfCats @jezebelkat i love this, a lot

you could come back wearing different hats/glasses/groucho marx moustaches for each purchase

@FlockOfCats This was not possible, given the math involved.
