@johnnydecimal Note that this functionality doesn't share any of the content of your emails in the Proton Mail inbox with your recovery email address. The address itself needs to be known anyway, otherwise it wouldn't be possible to use it when the need for a recovery arises.

We understand that some of our users wish to avoid this, which is why we provide other recovery methods:
