@mina Last week I learned about trypophobia - fear of patterns with lots of holes. Apparently it is common for people with dementia, and possibly arises from the instinctive reaction to other people's fear and what frightened eyes look like. I suspect this sculpture might be disconcerting for some. It is very good though.
Actually, back in the day, on Twitter, I asked people who said, they were suffering from trypophobia if this very image triggered them, and they all said, it was OK.
According to them, organic surfaces were more problematic than those of hard materials.
I can add: I experience a (rather mild) feeling of discomfort myself, when I see patterns with many small holes (it only gets bad, if these patterns appear in my dreams), and the very first time, I saw this photo, I felt a bit of it, but it went away immediately after taking in the image as a whole, and I could appreciate its beauty.
It's lovely and intriguing and extremely well done.
I absolutely adore it. If I remember right, there are several statues by her on the Devonshire coast (maybe somewhere else, I'm really not sure), but this is the one, I like the most.
