@daringfireball I had an AppleVison 1710av paired with my PowerMac 8500 and loved it. Bought both as used floor-models and they got me all the way through design school in the late 90s.

Never had any issues personally and always wondered why the 1710av seemed so "lost to history" (...until your post today). Fun trip down memory lane!

@daringfireball @gruber I had an AppleVision 1710 paired with my Power Mac 9500, and loved it — except, the video would fuzz out from time to time, and I’d have to smack the top of it (à la Fonzie/Han Solo) to get it to work again. Eventually, no amount of smacking would bring it back to life.
