Ginza had a better day yesterday and only spent a couple of hours in her safety nook. She's such a good and brave kitty.

I slept pretty well though I woke up early.

3.5 days away from leaving this area which is where I have lived all my life. I'm all sorts of terrified.

@IzabelaKaramia I say that about the terror because it can be easy to get more caught up in. Sometimes easy to forget to take advantage of the moment and the excitement that's somehow alongside. The moving towards something somewhat hopeful gets caught up in the torrent of the practical and frustrating and awful.

But, it'll be over quicker than you realize and you'll be away. And you'll be on a new adventure. You'll feel different from all the sudden growth.

    Hopefully you'll be rather proud...

@IzabelaKaramia of yourself for doing the harder thing. It's easy to stay in place most of the time.

It's hard to upend the familiar and take the chance. And once you do you learn a lot about yourself -- which is an even bigger undertaking than moving.

And, of course Ginza's heavily on your mind. She'll be comforted by your ability to take comfort. This is totally weird for her but she trusts you so it'll be ok* as long as you're ok.

*She might be mad but ok ala black cat & my calico

Yeah at times everything feels so weird and unsettled and surreal, enough so that even when I get quiet time to slow down, I wonder if all of this is actually going on.

Having my first huge move like this one is happen later on life is probably an amplifying factor to how it all feels. But I'm glad that I have Ginza for a buddy to accompany me and it probably helps me not dwell on me so much with how I need to be attentive to her.

So the news about the Key Bridge oncollapse says that cars had been halted from crossing the bridge. It was the construction crew up on the bridge that fell into the water. Question now is did anyone try to contact the crew and tell them to evacuate?

Those poor men who had come to this country to work and lose their lives in that way.

Nothing sweeter than the sound of a weedwhacker solo before 8 in the morning.

Been working on sorting through items that remain and figuring out what I want and will fit in the purse, the carry on bag, and the checked bag.

Also cleaned the bathroom sink a second time.

Cooked up a small pot of rice and peas to serve as side dishes for meals.

    Took garbage out.

After I finish this cup of tea, I'll put in the dishwasher and get that running.

Wrote the above more than an hour ago and forgot to hit toot,

I didn´t expect to be doing this much work this morning, but somehow it feels like that every day as of late.

But I've gotten important shit done, so yay me.

Also I passed off the extra cans of cat food to the elderly gentleman who provided Ginza a meal at midday for 5+ years. There was a tiny feeding shelter in which he put the food. Of course because she moved inside with me, he no longer feeds her but other ferals in the neighborhood. Thus me giving him another week's worth of food.

I also learned that the gentleman who fed Ginza for 5+ years is 90 years old! He doesn't look it and he still walks around quite well. He's very happy that Ginza has retired from the life of a feral cat, he's glad that him doing that gave Ginza a chance to meet up with a crazy woman like me.

Since this is Whiskers Wednesday, I should post this picture again as it shows Ginza's whiskers quite nicely.

I'm pretty near exhaustion now, so I'm going to be good and smart and just let myself relax.

Heating up a sausage with the rice and peas for an early dinner. There might be a 2nd dinner later on. I want to get more calories and nutrients in me. Overall, I've done pretty for well myself in managing to eat some every day, but I've probably been at a deficit and I hope put extra inside of me today.

I ate the early dinner and for dessert I ate the final 2 ice cream bars that were in the freezer. Then after that I took out the garbage and it's almost painful to feel that damp chill taking over in place of the warm sunny weather the prior 2 days.

3 days from now the hour of departure to get to the airport will be closing in. My stomach rolls around if I think about that too much and honestly hope that my longtime friend, Alexi Thymia, shows up Saturday afternoon to help me cope.

I've eaten a second dinner, definitely a good thing to get more calories inside me.

It's important to remember that going mad is a perfectly rational response to this mad world.
