As a lifelong, passionate @nytimes reader and occasional writer, it's dizzying how consistently awful and irresponsible its headlines, subheds, ledes, and spin about Biden and Trump have been. I honestly feel nausea and vertigo seeing headlines and subheds like this.
@stevesilberman The current NYT iteration is definitely off base from the paper’s history. I think a lot of it is due to the transition to digital and, with it, trying to attract eyeballs from all over the world in order to save the bottom line. It’s a bad mix. I hope they can get past the clickbait and lurid tone, because they’re really harmful.
@JaneinNJ@stevesilberman It's really not off base from the paper's history. They have always been this. Remember how in the 30's they told us Hitler didn't really mean all that mean stuff he said about Jews and we shouldn't worry about it?
