Well I wasn’t expecting that!

Doc seeing me was masked, and decent, and actually quite helpful. It turns out he’s a doc that has specialised for years in CFS/ME, worked in intensive care before that’d and understands autoimmunity too. He was retired and has come back out of retirement at 74.

He was useful to see. Thorough, had read my notes. Validated a lot of what I’ve tried and figured out already 2 years in, and has a couple of suggestions for meds to send back to my GP

His verdict:

• Some form of nerve damage likely.

• Fibromyalgic pain symptoms lead the CF symptoms

• Can’t try Paxlovid to test residual infection as he’s not allowed to just prescribe it

• Recommended some next stage anti inflammatories to the doc that may keep me out of needing prednisone and flaring

Validates a lot of what I’ve been doing/experiencing and how it all adds up

@andymoose to anyone other than the docs I’m there to see, the answer has to be “why do you think I’m in here?” gestures at hospital 😅
