I have Pixie the bullypit mix for that. Cats can be standoffish but Pixie the dog always picks up when I'm down or sick and comes in for a cuddle.
@purplepadma I get it and I empathize. My dog was the best, until I was sad, hurt, or sick, and then he would totally abandon me and spend his time in another room. I guess I admired that he maintained firm boundaries lol!
