@tess @ElleGray Someone I shared this with was all "eh, that's a troll" so I did some terrible math.

Big caveat: this is to refute a viewpoint which holds "olds don't play games", which obviously /is not true/.

But if it /was/ true, then hypothetical grandparent "had to be” a kid-or-teen in the '80s, to be "properly" into games 🙄 thus, a scenario:

  • b. 1965
  • had "mom" at age 23, in 1988
  • mom has SecretImaginaryMan at age 22, in 2010
  • SIM posts on reddit at age 14, in 2024

@tess @ElleGray This scenario obviously presents the previous generations having their first kid a little early (average "new mom" age in the US, anyhow, is apparently closer to 25-28?) but it's still well within the realm of possibility.
