I was reminded of a story about my friend Jill, but I wasn't able to properly convey it in text since it has to do with her specific New Yorker accent and how she says certain words, so I figured it would be better to record me telling the story instead.
It's less than a minute long so it shouldn't be TOO terrible to listen to even though I'm fully aware that I have Resting Bitch Voice (RBV).
@Alice NO reflection on you or your friend who the story is about at all, but my mind made this meditation on the pronunciation of “toffee coffee” into a standing order for JK Rowling: “TERFy coffee.”
It is somehow inexplicably more delicious every time she doubles down. (Barista wipes mouth with back of hand.)
@Alice Ha! Funny story. I don’t know what Resting Bitch Voice is but you have a nice voice; kinda reminds me of Maggie Gyllenhaal (or it could be just me, I try to find patterns where there is none)

I think your voice is wonderful. It’s like… so nice that even if you were cussin’ me out I’d be all dreamy-eyed and thinking, “Alice has such a nice voice.”
@Alice mostly it's the tawk cawl bawl cawfee thing. I don't turn my ‘r's into ‘h’s like long island or some of new england, though.
If someone comes in hard midwest I sometimes finding myself having to decipher what they're saying, like Laura, properly pronounced, comes out Lawr-ruh, but some folks say it like Lah- rah
