I dont understand, where do I see tyhe closure of nukes, where the increase in coal and gas from the closing of nuclear plants.

This is the understanding in in the US.

Slight misunderstanding the nuclear reality:
the up-peak in coal was not due to the planned shutdown of the last 3 reactors in Germany (running in low burn due to expleted fuel), but to compensate for a third of the French nuclear reactor fleet having been inoperable.

What outsiders usually miss are pro-coal/gas intertwinements between gas/coal industry and the two major political parties in Germany.

Plus due to the long-planned phaseout, refuelling and security updates were skipped/overdrawn. If they had intended to continue running the reactors left, all would have been in need of major refurbishment (as in: ~5 years of construction & shutdown). Plus MAJOR financial hassles (long story).
