There is, for all practical purposes, no "left" in US politics. There's flavours of right. The absolute radical leftmost wing of the Democrats would be mildly left-leaning, as if in a stiff breeze, centrists in any other nation practically.

@angiebaby That is a situation I've noticed a lot in the American (and indeed WESTERN) left.
There's a distinct hierarchy.
White guys are at the top. White women are next in line. Then comes everybody else with a tendency for darker skins to fall lower in the hierarchy.
This is why Chinese groups that should be natural allies of the western left (like Chinese LGBQT+ groups) are silently disengaging from their American counterparts: they're tired of being talked down to and ignored.

As president, Trump abruptly stopped all US aid to Palestine, not in response to anything, just because he hates them. He plans to ban Muslim immigration (again), and the GOP is trying to deport all Palestinians now in the US. Kushner wants to forcibly remove all Gazans from Gaza.
